Pfitzauf et Maya Bee dans les Alpes

Hanging with Mr Peio

February 22nd, 2009

The other day Maya and I went and spent the day with Peio and his mom. It was a lovely day. We exchanged war stories for the most part of the day and took a walk around their neighborhood. They live in a nice calm hamlet outside of St Marcellin. (St Marcellin is also a very good cheese, you could try if you came over here, hint, hint…)
Peio surprised everyone and joined us 3 weeks after Maya was born, earlier than expected. Normally his date was December 16. Seems like my little Bee was the only one not in a rush. It is nice that Maya has quite a few friends here age already. Here are some cute photos of the two of them hanging out.

So, We went to the doctor the other day. Everything seems to be AOK! My little Bee is now 5,230 kg, 59 cm long and Head is 39,8cm round. She is growing up so quick. Again, she was so brave during here vaccination. Thank goodness they combine all the vaccination into one shot here in France.

So, here we are in Val dIsere. It is Mayas first time at 1,800 meters (5400 ft), which is pretty high!! We came up here Monday, February 2, 2009 with Omi and Grand-pre to see the World Alpine Skiing Championship. She did great on the ride up and during the day. The night was a little difficult getting to sleep. I even have trouble trying to sleep at that altitude. Plus, it was a totally new environment and new big bed. Up to this moment she has been sleeping in a bassinet. Yesterday, she was still trying to adjust, but slept better last night. Today, February 4, 2009 we went to watch the Mens Super G. It was awesome, but unfortunately the Americans and French didnt make the podium. The sheer speed they are going down that hill is suicidal. Later, we did a little shopping, Mommy got a new baseball cap and Maya a new stocking hat.

I’m not doing anything, honestly.

No USA medals this day, but what a sight to see!

Hey good looking

Dear Maya Bee,

February 5th, 2009

Dear Maya Bee,
Today you are 3 months and you are growing by leaps and bounds. You are the most alert baby that I have ever seen. You love discovering things everyday and I love being able to be there discovering along with you. You are close to rolling over by yourself, and sitting up doesnt seem to be to far off. I cherish the time that we have spent together and cant believe that it is half way over. I dread giving up being with you day and night.

You are quite the traveler. We made your first trip when you were only 3 weeks old and havent stop since. You recently made a big trip that came with many changes. We went to Val DIsere for the World Ski Championship. It is located at 1800 meters in the mountains. You have a bit trouble sleeping through the night, but it is also difficult for an adult to become accustomed to sleeping at this altitude. Also, you are sleeping in a big crib, which is a huge change from your bassinet. The quarters are a little tight, with many family members sleeping left and right in the apartment. Not everyone has the same habits, so it was difficult getting you into a rhythm.

In a couple of days you will have your 3 month appointment and you last vaccination for a couple of months. I know that you will be my brave little soldier again. You are growing up and filling in so nice, must be your mommys good milk ?. You have only had 2 colds this winter so far, and they werent anything to bad, just a stuffy nose and a little cough.

Lately, you have discovered your feet and swing them about when you are excited or angry. You still suck on your fist and refuse all pacifiers!! You smile all the time and even wake up with a smile almost every morning. You have everyone under your charm with your huge smile. It doesnt take much to make you smile. You have finally discovered Pfitz and his fuzzy body. I think that you are trying to focus, as you seem to cross your eyes when looking at something specific.

Well, I will continue after your doctor appointment.

Mommy having Fun

February 1st, 2009

This morning I realized that an outfit I find adorable, I don’t have any pictures. So, With the camcorder that I spoke in the previous article, started to take a couple of shots for no particular reason.

The Chicky Outfit
This is the last time she will wear this outfit, as there is not a whole lot of room left.

Mommy giving me a hand

See, I don’t need any help, back off…
She loves to sit up, but needs something to assist her. She actually sat for a minute her all by herself, with nothing supporting her back! Someone has mommy’s coordination.

What’s up?

Those are some baby blues!!
Can you get any bluer?

I wanted to take some pictures earlier, but realized that I sent the cameras up to Val dIsere, but the camcorder stayed behind. So, I broke out the camcorder and found some pictures already on it that we took some time ago. So I thought that I would publish them.

The master Harvester

This was taken during the Grape Harvesting for my Brother-in-Law, who make a killer Burgundy Chardonnay, Burgundy Pinot Noir aged in wood, and Crment (like champagne). Here is Grampie. Got some nice grapes there!

The Back Breaker
I love this picture, because my little Bee is really little.

Grammie and her half French grandaughter
Maya did a real fashion show this weekend; She wore all the beautiful outfit given to her by friends and family in the states.
