Ultimate Fighting Champion

September 3rd, 2010

Today we went to a cook out to our friends Martin and Mireille. They are a mixed couple like us. He is British and she is Croatian, but grew up in France. Jean-Marc knows Mireille from college and I got Martin into my company, so it is nice that we get to stay in contact, as they are a very lovely couple. They have a little girl Emilie, who is the second person that I think has the most beautiful and amazing hair. She is one year older than Maya, with a character very similar to Maya. We went to their house and hung out for the day. It was a great day, with great weather. The girls played with Emilie’s toys, colored, swam a bit. Then, Maya discovered the best thing since sliced bread, A TRAMPOLINE!!!! It ended up looking like an Ultimate Fighting Champion competition. Here some pictures, so that you know what I mean::

Don’t mess with the Super Fly Maya Bee

The girls even managed to catch a few rays:

3 Amigos, new edition

The other day me and my girlfriends got together with our children. Since Maya has been born, we have passed many Fridays with her boy Peio and his mom Kontxi. We were happy to finally welcome Thomas and his mom, Nobuko, to our little Friday get together. It was pretty spectacular to hear each mom speak to her child, as each child is half French, thanks to their daddies, then Peio is half Spain Spanish, Maya is half American, and Thomas is half Japanese.
Kontxi and I children are 3 weeks different in age. We have been getting together on Fridays and speak to each others child in our own language. We are thrilled to have Nobuko join our group and enrich our children lives with another language. Also, we take this opportunity to have a good girlfriend gossip fest!! Not being French, we all have some trials of living in our adopted country. We are all the same age, with young children. It is nice not to feel like an old women amongst the women that I usually meet that have a child the same age as Maya. Plus they are full time working moms, such as myself.

Anyway, it was a fun afternoon. Here are some pictures of the Backpack Pack:
