Pfitzauf et Maya Bee dans les Alpes

In like a lion and out like a lion!

March 28th, 2011

March has blown in and out with such speed that it is scary! Miss Bee is becoming more and more like her Daddy! She usually only mimics me, but it seems that Daddy is finally becoming interesting.

She is computer savvy like her mom and dad. Goodness knows that she is surrounded by 4 computers, 2 Smartphones, Playstation, and Wii, and there is only Mommy and Daddy that use them

She did attempt to help me bake some cookies, but it ended in tears; she believes that if I show her once, then she is good to go by herself. She has quite the independent streak. Hmmm, I wonder where that comes from. Present company is not alone in this!!

Just when I can finally do a mini braid, I break down and take Maya to the hair salon to have her very first professional haircut. The cut off her little curls, but it seems that she will have some wave to her hair. Yippy! Unfortunately, this makes her bob look a little uneven at the moment; still cute nonetheless. It was a pretty fancy kid salon. They have these really high chairs shaped like vehicles with steering wheels and horn. Then, the have a TV down near the floor, so the child looks down and doesnt move. At the end, the child is given candy and a balloon. I gave in and let Maya have one piece of candy, so all in all, it was a very good experience and worth the $19. Here are the results!

Dear Maya Bee

March 21st, 2011

My Dearest Little Bee,
My how you have grown. Your life is one big adventure and I’m glad your letting me come along for the run! You are know 2 years and 4 months old and your are already becoming your very own person. You have an energy that just radiates through your actions and smile. Things are sometimes tough, as we have trouble communicating, but you are finally using words to identify somethings. You still have your little brain trying to wrap around the two languages, although, you seem to be saying more things in French, since you pass most of the week at your French nanny, but at home it is mostly English.

If song vocabulary counts, then you have a very extensive vocabulary! You love to sing and sing all day long. You have the sweetest little voice! Our favorite place to sing is in the car. We even have Daddy joining in all the time!! Mommy has finally cut back on the Christmas music, when it is the Christmas season, thanks to Auntie Stacey for hooking us up with some cd full of classic songs. You can even do all the hand and body gestures that go along with the songs in English and French.

I love going to get you in the morning; you pop up with this little chipper, “HI” at 6:00 am every morning. Then you will go looking for Daddy or Pfitzauf, saying quite clearly, “Pfitzauf, Where are you?” or “Daddy, Where are you?”. Makes mommy’s heart melt. We pretty much have the words
Cookie, Please, Thank You, No, Elmo, Abby, Cocoyo (should be Pocoyo), Kai Lan, and slide. All of your favorite things!

You can usually express someway or another of what you actually want, although sometimes it isn’t so clear and it gets a bit frustrating for you. I feel so bad, but I know that you are smart and will figure it out one day. But, you do seem to be saying more and more each day. Mommy has been listening closly and each day you seem to be saying more.

The other day we signed you up for school at the Grenoble Montessori school. We felt that this was the best choice, as it will let you remain a young child and the school toots a real yard with GRASS!! It was a tough decision to make and one that we did not take lightly. So, starting in September, you will start school “maternelle”. You are growing up too fast for mommy.

You are now becoming conscious of what you are wearing and are starting to express yourself through clothes and hair accessories. We don’t always agree, but I guess that is part of growing up. I am excited that I can finally do a tiny braid in your hair. Hopefully, Gammie will teach mommy how to do a French braid!!

You are getting more courageous each day and giving Mommy mini heart attacks. You are a little monkey climbing in and out of everything. Also, jumping from one object to another. Let us not forget the tumbling that you do everywhere, on your bed, on the couch, in your ball pool, on the carpet… It reminds me a bit of someone, and I’m sure you Gammie and Grampi are thinking the same thing.

Well, I will end here. You are the magic in our lives and we love you so much.

Some new videos

March 6th, 2011

Maya’s wonderful Daddy put together some great videos that show Maya Bee’s new found sports. My little Bee is fearless. She has that Leigh love for excitement. Unfortunately, the videos are a bit slow, but super Daddy is in the progress of finding a solution.

Weekend at Omi and Grandpre

March 5th, 2011

This past weekend, we took off to Burgundy, so that Maya could spend some time with one of her favorite people, cousin Johanna. The two, when together, are attached at the hip! It is very cute to see, but trying to get a good picture of them together was a whole other story. These two are cut from the same mold. Almost impossible to get them to stop moving for 2 seconds to take a picture, ugggh. They both also have a love for animals, as well as being fearless, which is great for me to do stuff with them. They are two peas in a very hyper active pod. Keeps me on my toes.
Here are a few photos of the Bobbsey Twins in action:

We’ll be heading back at Easter time, and I don’t know if Maya can wait that long…
